Start with the operating condition

A reliable selection begins with real operating data. Record the liquid, normal and maximum flow, static level difference, pipe length and diameter, fittings, discharge pressure, temperature and operating hours. If the liquid contains solids, include maximum particle size, concentration and whether fibres are present.

Check the complete system

The pump must work with the system curve, not only a single catalogue point. Allow for changing liquid levels, fouling, valve position and process variation. Keep the preferred duty point in an efficient and stable region of the performance curve.

Confirm construction and protection

Select wetted materials and sealing arrangements for corrosion, abrasion and temperature. For submersible equipment, confirm motor protection, cable length and installation method. For air-operated pumps, check air quality, pressure and consumption.
